Female Uniform

How to Wear:

Hair/Nail/Lipstick Regulations:

       - No unnaturally colored hair. You can have brown, blonde, natural red, etc., (and you can also dye your hair these colors) but no fire truck red, blue, green, etc.
       - On uniform days, your hair must be in a low,
neat pony tail that does not go past the middle of your shoulder blades, a low tight bun that does not touch your collar, or braids.
       - N
ail polish will be a single color that does not detract from the uniform, nor can the nail polish be extreme in color. Some examples of extreme colors include, but are not limited to, purple, gold, blue, black, white, bright (fire engine) red and florescent colors. Do not apply designs to nails or apply two-tone or multi-tone colors; however, white-tip French manicures are authorized. Fingernails must not exceed ¼ inch in length beyond the tip of the finger and must be clean and well groomed
-Female Airmen will not wear shades of lipstick that detract from the uniform, or that are extreme colors. Some examples of extreme colors include but are not limited to, purple, gold, blue, black, bright (fire-engine) red, and fluorescent colors.
Lightweight Blue Jacket!!
       - Your metal rank goes on your lightweight blue jacket and your service coat. For the lightweight blue jacket, the rank is parallel to the outer edge of your collar, and centered up/down and left/right on your collar.
       - When wearing your lightweight blue jacket, you must have the zipper zipped up 3/4ths of the way.

Service Dress!!
       - For both enlisted and officers, your metal rank will go on the collar of your service coat. It will sit halfway up the seam of your collar with the metal wing corner just barely touching the seam, but not overlapping it.
       - Service dress is ALWAYS long sleeve with tie.

Officers! Your uniform is a little different than enlisted.
       - You will NOT wear metal rank on your blue shirts. Ever. You get shoulder epaulets (shoulder pads), instead of a metal rank on blues shirts. These slide onto your shoulder flaps with the arrow pointing to your neck.

       - You will wear 1 single metal rank on the left side of your flight cap. The bottom of the rank will be parallel to the ground. It will sit 1/2- 1 inch from the bottom of the cap, and 1 1/4 inches from the front edge.
Uniform tips and tricks:

Blues shirts:
       - Your blue name tag will sit on the right side of your shirt. The tag will sit centered left to right, in line with the second button.
       -
Your ribbon rack (If you have any ribbons) is centered on the seam on your left pocket. Your ribbons are arranged in order from right  to left from least important (Bottom right of the rack) to the most important (Top left of the rack). See "Ribbons, Shoes, and Ties" for a ribbon rack builder and the ribbon chart.
       - Your metal rank will sit center on your collar left/right and up/down. The wing
tips of your rank should not be touching the seams.
       - If you have a cord, it will sit on your left shoulder, pinned onto the shirt underneath your shoulder flaps.
       - Long Sleeve (LS) uniform days are ALWAYS with tie!
       - Your tie tab will Velcro around your neck like a bow tie. The edges of the tie's "Collar" will line up with the edges of your shirt's collar.
       - Always button the top button when wearing a tie. If not wearing a tie, you can leave the very top button unbuttoned.

Blues Pants:
       - Loop your belt through your belt loops to the right. (See belt video below)
       - Your gig line is made up of the edge of your belt buckle, the portion of your pants covering the zipper, and the edge of your shirt's button line. These three lines should be lined up straight with each other.
       - Your socks MUST be black!! Not navy blue. BLACK.

The video below explains both male and female uniform- It is recommended
that you watch the whole video. But, the female portion is explained at 5:07
